About Food Safety Audit Notes
Food Safety Audit Notes is an independently operated information site about food safety systems. It explains how supplier audits work, what hygienic equipment design involves, and how packaging lines relate to safety and traceability records. It is not, and is not affiliated with, the National Food Processors Association, the National Fire Protection Association, or any food industry association. Those names appear only as historical facts, with dates.
In the early 2000s this domain hosted a website about the SAFE supplier-audit programme associated with the National Food Processors Association, a US food industry association. SAFE on this site means that historical programme, and only with a year attached. This site does not operate, issue or authorise that audit or any certificate. It does not train auditors and it does not publish a supplier list. A US Food and Drug Administration study dated 9 August 2004 listed a manual on this domain as further reading suggested by a few experts. That citation is not an endorsement of this site by the agency.
This site does not inherit the former association's name, marks or membership, and it does not represent any organisation that later used a similar audit name. Pages do not treat a historical manual as a current requirement. No operating organisation or named reviewer is identified here, because none has been supplied for publication.
Articles are general information. Food safety requirements depend on the product, the process and the jurisdiction. Check current regulations, standards and the customer's own requirements before relying on anything here. Nothing on this site replaces an audit or legal advice.
